What we collect
The Advertise page has an inquiry form. It has four required fields (business name, your name, email, and what you're interested in) and two optional ones (phone number and a message).
The Feedback page asks which tool or guide you used, the kind of feedback, and your message. Your name, email, destination or page, and device details are optional. We use those submissions to improve the network and, if you provide an email, to follow up when needed. Private feedback is not published and does not subscribe you to a mailing list.
The separate planner-discovery and Camp Compass story forms ask for permission to publish the story and any photograph you choose to share. Publication follows the consent on each form; email addresses are not published. Nothing is published automatically.
Who processes it
MCKINNEY DIGITAL HOLDINGS LLC operates Dune Guide USA and its destination-guide publications and is responsible for the information collected through this site.
Form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms. Netlify hosts this site and stores submissions on our behalf. We do not pass anything submitted here to data brokers or any third party, and we do not sell it. We use advertising inquiries to reply to the inquiry. The meal planner also offers an optional food-ideas form. Only the text you review and choose to submit is sent through that form; we use it to improve the planner. Personal trip names, dates, reservations and family notes are not included automatically.
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. That request reaches Google with the visitor's IP address, which is how any embedded web font works. We do not control what Google logs from that request.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, page views, approximate geography, referral sources, browser and device information, and interactions with site links. The active measurement ID is G-ZPTRHTYPRY. Google processes this information on our behalf; we use the reports to understand which guides and planning links are useful. The meal planner also measures available menu options, selections, completed plans and PDF creation, download and print-viewer actions. These events use menu identifiers, selection sources (chosen or suggested), equipment filters and counts. They do not include typed food ideas, trip names, dates, family notes or reservations. Typed food ideas are collected separately only through the optional submission form. Additional meal events respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. A download or print-viewer action does not confirm a file was saved or physically printed.
Microsoft Advertising
If you select Allow in our advertising measurement choices, Microsoft Universal Event Tracking (UET) measures page visits, accepted advertiser inquiry submissions, destination-guide link clicks, Camp Compass link opens, and 90-second Radio listening milestones. A Camp Compass link open does not confirm that someone used the tool. Inquiry acceptance does not confirm an advertising sale.
Microsoft may process your IP address, browser information, page and referral URLs, Microsoft ad click identifier, and advertising cookies to attribute these actions to ads. We do not send inquiry field contents, email addresses, phone numbers, saved camps, coordinates, trip notes, or Radio share recipients as conversion parameters. Enhanced conversions and Clarity session recording are off. UET is not loaded on Camp Compass, the meal planner, or Arcade pages.
Microsoft measurement stays off until you allow it, and respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Your choice is remembered in this browser. Changing to No thanks stops additional conversion events and denies advertising-cookie consent; it does not undo data already sent. You can also remove existing cookies in your browser. Links to the destination guides
DGUSA Radio remembers liked songs and saved stations in your browser on this device. Radio analytics measure station opens, song starts, listening milestones, likes and unlikes, sharing actions, tagged-link visits, guide clicks and completed station saves. They use catalog identifiers and entry-point labels, not names or the recipients of your shares. Additional Radio events respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Offline actions are not uploaded later. A share-menu hand-off does not confirm a social post was published, and a like is not a verified unique person.
Every link from this site to Oceano Dunes, Oregon Dunes, Little Sahara, or Silver Lake carries a UTM tag identifying it as network referral traffic. That tag is visible in the URL and is standard analytics practice; it does not identify an individual visitor, only that the click came from this site. Our destination guides are operated by MCKINNEY DIGITAL HOLDINGS LLC. Each guide has its own privacy policy describing the services used on that site.
Cookies
Google Analytics may set a first-party _ga cookie containing a pseudonymous client identifier so it can distinguish users and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Requesting deletion
If you submitted an inquiry, feedback, food idea, or story and want your submission deleted, email michael@ccwheelers.com and reference "Dune Guide USA privacy request." We will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects or how it's processed changes, this page will be updated to match. There is no separate notification list; this page is the source of truth.
